A fantastic film with a soon to be cut the breath and music to give you the creeps this is what this represents for me. A must-ownA great classic of the French cinema of the ' 50s, which continues obviously to be a source of debate. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that the film's purpose is hardly situable from an ideological point of view. The error is likely to want to see the movie according to categories frozen (in favor of the Resistance versus pro-collabo). I believe that it is appropriate to place it on a different level. The film shows that under the Occupation, the main task of the people was first of all to survive. And to survive, it is necessary in particular to eat. The film engages in a sociological analysis rather caustic on the attitudes of each other; the film shows by example two characters, one is a painter who has been successful, the other a former taxi driver who vivote in the black market. A film incredible, outstanding (whether they like it or not classical music) that is serviced by a flawless execution. In addition the technical quality of the DVD is better in this version Zone 2 than it was in zone 1 (where the film was on 2 sides of the DVD).. I chose this rating because I love this movie and I recommend it to all those who, like me, loves the suspense, the strange, etc... I am very happy with the dvd quality, its sharpness and its cleanliness of presentation when I received it. a history of danton, and to relate with accuracy, perfect, the trial of danton and super play well, and the meeting with robespierre takes you to the guts to see it or a reviewEverything has been said here and the opinions are unanimous for a reason. Go, seeking really, I've managed to find a tiny little fault. Watching the movie in VO, when the screen between the act appears, it is displayed as "Intermission" and you have to go to the 2nd Blu-ray. When we take on the second Blu-ray, that reproduces on a screen which is displayed as "Intermission". Small lack of consistency without any impact, it was just to nitpick! Of course, the film n'is not quite faithful to the biography of the'illustrious composer. But hey... what's the matter! The bet is successful, to give the "hunger" of great music to all. D'suddenly, the fruit of the work of this genius, vulgar, or simply human in his daily life, become accessible and photogenic. Because in this film nothing n'is left to chance. It'is'a real musical progression and psychological : the selected pieces adhere perfectly to the storyline and are beautifully interpreted. Everything flows from source. As much in laughter as in tears.
